Calanthe Takane Vietnam Salvia darcyi makes a hugeCalanthe 'Takane' is an easy to grow, beautiful, multi colored, spring flowering orchid that is hardy in the woodland garden to zone 7a! These Japanese hybrids are a seed strain developed from crosses of Calanthe discolor and Calanthe sieboldii. Calanthe 'Takane' forms tropical looking clumps of flat, 8" long x 2" wide, pleated, green leaves. In mid April (NC), the clumps are topped with 8" long stalks of flowers that blend yellow, orange and apricot.
